Title: Insurance Underwriter

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team. As an Insurance Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing insurance applications to determine the level of risk associated with insuring a client. Your expertise in risk assessment and knowledge of insurance policies and regulations will play a crucial role in ensuring the profitability and sustainability of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze insurance applications for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility.
• Assess the level of risk associated with insuring a client based on factors such as their health, occupation, and lifestyle.
• Utilize underwriting guidelines and company policies to determine the appropriate coverage and premium for each client.
• Communicate with agents, brokers, and clients to gather additional information and clarify any discrepancies in the application.
• Stay updated with industry trends and changes in insurance regulations to make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with other departments such as claims and pricing to ensure consistency and accuracy in underwriting decisions.
• Write and issue insurance policies and endorsements.
• Monitor and review existing policies to identify any changes in risk level and make necessary adjustments.
• Build and maintain relationships with agents, brokers, and clients to foster business growth and retention.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Insurance Underwriter.
• Strong knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and underwriting guidelines.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and underwriting software.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Professional designation such as CPCU or AINS is preferred.
