About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Civic Engagement Specialist. As a leading organization in the community, we are committed to promoting civic engagement and encouraging individuals to take an active role in shaping their communities. The Civic Engagement Specialist will play a crucial role in achieving this goal by developing and implementing programs and initiatives that foster civic engagement and civic responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to increase civic engagement among community members.
• Collaborate with community leaders, organizations, and government agencies to promote civic participation and involvement.
• Plan and organize events, workshops, and other activities to educate and engage community members on civic issues.
• Create and maintain partnerships with local businesses and organizations to support civic initiatives.
• Conduct research and gather data to identify areas of improvement in civic engagement and develop solutions to address them.
• Design and implement educational materials and resources to promote civic understanding and encourage participation.
• Provide support and guidance to community members interested in running for public office.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets to promote civic initiatives and increase public awareness.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of civic engagement programs and make recommendations for improvement.
• Stay updated on local, state, and national policies and legislation that impact civic engagement and advise on potential actions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in community organizing, advocacy, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of civic engagement principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and evaluation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for community development and civic involvement.
• Knowledge of local government structures and processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
