Job Title: Medical Assistant

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a highly motivated and organized Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for providing quality patient care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional medical services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient information is obtained
• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist them with any necessary preparations for their appointments
• Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring proper sanitation and availability of necessary supplies
• Assist healthcare professionals with medical procedures and treatments
• Handle patient inquiries, both in person and over the phone, in a professional and courteous manner
• Accurately update and maintain patient medical records
• Schedule patient appointments and follow up on missed or canceled appointments
• Process and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
• Administer medications and vaccinations under the direction of a healthcare provider
• Assist with insurance verification and billing processes
• Adhere to all medical and safety protocols and maintain confidentiality of patient information

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, relevant post-secondary education preferred
• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate and empathetic towards patients
• CPR certification preferred
