Position: Academic Advisor

Location: Horizon Beacon College

Overview: Horizon Beacon College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students throughout their academic journey. You will work closely with students to help them achieve their academic goals and provide them with the necessary resources to succeed. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic counseling and support to students in various academic programs
• Assist students in developing personalized academic plans based on their interests, strengths, and goals
• Monitor students' academic progress and intervene when necessary to ensure they are on track to meet their goals
• Act as a liaison between students and faculty to address any academic concerns or issues
• Conduct regular individual and group advising sessions to discuss academic plans and progress
• Assist students in navigating academic policies, procedures, and resources
• Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive support services to students
• Develop and implement workshops and programs to enhance students' academic skills and success
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and policies related to academic advising

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in academic advising or counseling
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge of academic programs, policies, and procedures
• Ability to work with a diverse student population and adapt to their needs
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems
