Position: Database Solutions Designer

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Solutions Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Database Solutions Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing database solutions that meet the business needs of our clients. You will work closely with project managers, software developers, and database administrators to ensure the successful delivery of database solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop efficient and effective database solutions based on the requirements provided by our clients
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand and analyze business needs and translate them into technical requirements
• Develop data models, database schemas, and data dictionaries
• Create and maintain database design documentation
• Design and implement data migration strategies for transitioning data to new systems
• Perform data analysis and identify areas for optimization and improvement
• Develop and maintain database security protocols to ensure data integrity and confidentiality
• Conduct database performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Perform regular maintenance and updates to databases based on business needs
• Provide support and technical guidance to software developers and database administrators
• Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in database technologies and tools

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in database design and development
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)
• Experience with data modeling and database design tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or SQL Power Architect
• Familiarity with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts
• Knowledge of database security protocols and best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Certifications in database design and development are a plus
