Job Description: As an Academic Advisor, you will be responsible for providing academic guidance and support to a diverse group of students. You will serve as a mentor, advisor, and advocate for our students, helping them make informed decisions about their academic and career paths.

Responsibilities:

• Meet with students regularly to discuss their academic progress and provide guidance on course selection, degree requirements, and career opportunities.
• Assist students in developing personalized academic plans that align with their goals, interests, and abilities.
• Review and interpret students' academic records to determine their eligibility for graduation, scholarships, and other academic honors.
• Provide information and resources to students on various academic programs, courses, and campus resources.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other advisors to support student success initiatives and develop strategies to improve retention and graduation rates.
• Stay updated on the latest academic policies, procedures, and requirements to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is provided to students.
• Conduct workshops and presentations on a variety of academic topics to assist students in their academic and career development.
• Identify and address any academic or personal issues that may be affecting students' performance and provide appropriate referrals to support services.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or counseling in a higher education setting.
• Knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and degree requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in using technology and student information systems.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
