Job Title: Fishery Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fishery Manager to oversee the operations of our fishing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fisheries management, with a deep understanding of sustainable fishing practices and regulations. The Fishery Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our fishing operations, ensuring the health and productivity of our fish stocks, and maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sustainable fishing policies and practices to ensure the long-term health and productivity of our fish stocks.
• Monitor and analyze data on fish populations, fishing trends, and environmental conditions to make informed decisions about fishing practices.
• Manage a team of fishermen and other staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including fishing quotas, catch limits, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with government agencies and other stakeholders to advocate for sustainable fishing practices and participate in fisheries management initiatives.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of fishing equipment and vessels, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Manage budgets, track expenses, and report on financial performance to senior management.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other industry professionals.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Stay up-to-date on industry developments, market trends, and new technologies to continuously improve our fishing operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in fisheries or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fisheries management, with a strong understanding of sustainable fishing practices and regulations.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Knowledge of fishing equipment and vessel maintenance.
• Understanding of budgeting and financial management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel to various fishing locations as needed.
