Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement database security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify any potential security risks and vulnerabilities in the databases.
Monitor database activity logs and implement security controls to prevent malicious activities.
Collaborate with the IT team to implement security patches and updates for the databases.
Perform regular audits and reviews of database access controls to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our database security measures.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the databases.
Provide technical support and guidance to other teams on database security-related issues.
Investigate and respond to any security incidents or breaches in a timely manner.
Create and maintain documentation of all database security processes, procedures, and configurations.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in database security.
Strong knowledge of database security protocols, principles, and best practices.
Experience with database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server.
Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance standards such as GDPR and HIPAA.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are preferred.
