Job Title: Livestock Supervisor

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Livestock Supervisor to join our team. As the Livestock Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our livestock farm, ensuring the health and well-being of our animals, and managing a team of livestock workers. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of animal husbandry, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for agriculture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operations of the livestock farm, including feeding, breeding, and maintaining the health of the animals
• Oversee the scheduling and coordination of tasks for the livestock team to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
• Monitor the health and well-being of the animals, including identifying and addressing any health issues or concerns
• Develop and implement procedures for the care and management of the animals, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Train and supervise livestock workers, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to carry out their duties effectively
• Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory, production, and other relevant data
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to develop strategies for the growth and success of the farm
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in animal husbandry techniques to continuously improve farm operations
• Ensure the farm is clean, organized, and safe for both animals and employees
• Handle any issues or emergencies that may arise, such as inclement weather or disease outbreaks
• Implement and enforce biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of diseases among animals

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in livestock management, preferably in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of animal husbandry techniques, nutrition, and health care
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Proficiency in record-keeping and data analysis
• Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and be on call for emergencies
• Valid driver's license and the ability to operate farm machinery and equipment
