Job Title: Academic Advisor

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to students, helping them navigate their academic journey and achieve their educational goals. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, a passion for education, and a commitment to student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising to students, including course selection, degree planning, and program requirements
• Assist students in setting academic goals and developing an individualized plan to achieve those goals
• Monitor students' academic progress and intervene when necessary to address challenges or concerns
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure students are aware of available resources and support services
• Stay up-to-date on curriculum changes, academic policies, and procedures to accurately advise students
• Conduct regular check-ins with students to assess their progress and address any issues that may arise
• Develop and maintain relationships with students, serving as a mentor and advocate for their academic success
• Support students in exploring additional academic opportunities, such as internships, study abroad programs, and research opportunities
• Assist with the development and implementation of academic advising programs and initiatives
• Utilize student data and feedback to continuously improve advising services and processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or a related role
• Strong knowledge of higher education policies, procedures, and resources
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proven ability to build relationships and establish trust with students
• Familiarity with student information systems and advising software
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
