Position: Academic Advisor

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in guiding students towards academic success by providing guidance and support throughout their academic journey. You will work closely with students to help them develop academic plans, make informed decisions, and ultimately achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-on-one advising sessions with students to discuss academic goals and develop personalized academic plans.
• Monitor students' academic progress and provide timely intervention and support when needed.
• Assist students in selecting courses that align with their academic plans and career aspirations.
• Provide information and resources to students regarding academic policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Collaborate with faculty and other academic advisors to identify and address any academic concerns or challenges faced by students.
• Organize and conduct workshops and information sessions to educate students about academic resources and opportunities.
• Serve as a liaison between students and other departments or offices within the institution.
• Maintain accurate and updated records of student interactions and progress.
• Stay updated on changes in academic programs, policies, and procedures to provide accurate and relevant information to students.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to academic advising.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of academic policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in using technology for academic advising purposes.

Working Conditions: The Academic Advisor will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, interacting with students, faculty, and staff on a daily basis. The position may require some evening and weekend work to accommodate students' schedules. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
