Position: Multimedia Journalist

Overview: As a Multimedia Journalist, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and producing news stories across various platforms including print, online, and broadcast media. You will have a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for detail to deliver accurate and engaging content to our audience. This position requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to work well under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and gather information on local, national, and international events and issues
• Conduct interviews with sources to obtain first-hand information and quotes
• Write clear and concise news articles that follow journalistic standards and ethics
• Edit and proofread articles to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Collaborate with in-house photographers and videographers to create multimedia content to accompany written articles
• Utilize social media platforms to engage with the audience and promote news stories
• Pitch and develop story ideas that are relevant and timely
• Stay up-to-date with current events and industry trends to ensure the delivery of relevant and informative content
• Work closely with editors and producers to plan and execute coverage of breaking news and special events

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a newsroom environment
• Strong writing and editing skills with a solid understanding of AP style
• Excellent research skills and ability to verify information from multiple sources
• Experience in multimedia storytelling, including photography and video production
• Proficient in social media platforms and their use in news gathering and distribution
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiarity with content management systems and basic HTML coding is a plus
