Position: Student Success Advisor

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Student Success Advisor to join our team. As a Student Success Advisor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students to achieve their academic and personal goals. You will be responsible for providing individualized advising, developing success plans, and connecting students with resources to enhance their overall educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for a caseload of students, providing regular and proactive advising to ensure their success and retention.
• Conduct regular check-ins with students to monitor their progress, address any concerns, and provide necessary support and referrals.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, creating a supportive and inclusive environment for their academic journey.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address student needs, and develop strategies for improving student success.
• Facilitate workshops and informational sessions to educate students on academic policies, procedures, and resources available to them.
• Utilize data and student feedback to assess and improve advising practices, and contribute to the development of new initiatives to enhance student success.
• Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in student advising and retention, and implement new strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, student affairs, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in academic advising or student support services.
• Knowledge of student development theory and best practices in advising and retention.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload of students effectively.
• Proficient in using technology and data to track and monitor student progress and success.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other departments to support student success.
• Passion for working with students and helping them achieve their goals.
