Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Livestock Production Manager to oversee all aspects of our livestock operations. This role requires a strong leader who is able to manage a team, implement and maintain best practices, and ensure the efficient and safe production of livestock. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of animal husbandry, production processes, and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of our livestock operations, including breeding, feeding, and health management
• Develop and implement production plans to meet company targets and market demands
• Manage a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed
• Monitor and maintain the health and welfare of our livestock, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards
• Collaborate with the procurement team to source and purchase high-quality livestock
• Implement and maintain biosecurity protocols to prevent the spread of diseases
• Monitor and manage the inventory of feed, supplies, and equipment
• Work closely with the marketing team to develop and promote our products to potential clients
• Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports for senior management
• Continuously improve production processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Monitor and manage the budget for the production department
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in animal science, agriculture, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in livestock production, with at least 2 years in a management role
• Extensive knowledge of animal husbandry, nutrition, and health management
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Proven track record of meeting production targets and driving continuous improvement
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management software
