Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Produce Department Manager to join our team. As the Produce Department Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the produce department, including ordering, inventory management, pricing, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the produce industry, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the produce department, including ordering, receiving, pricing, and merchandising.
• Ensure high-quality and fresh produce is consistently available for customers.
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust ordering as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
• Train and supervise produce department staff, providing coaching and feedback to ensure excellent performance.
• Create schedules for staff to ensure proper coverage during peak hours.
• Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the produce department.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor sales and analyze data to make informed decisions regarding pricing and product selection.
• Collaborate with other department managers to develop and implement promotions and special events.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a produce department management role.
• Strong understanding of produce industry trends, pricing, and inventory management.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
