Job Title: Farm Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Manager to join our team. As the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our farm operations, including crop production, livestock management, and equipment maintenance. You will work closely with our team of farm workers, ensuring that all daily tasks and long-term goals are met efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities: Crop Production: You will be responsible for planning and managing all aspects of crop production, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting. This will involve creating detailed crop rotation plans, monitoring crop health, and implementing pest and disease control measures.

Livestock Management: Our farm includes a variety of livestock, including cows, pigs, and chickens. As the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the care and management of these animals, ensuring their health and welfare, and coordinating with our veterinarian when necessary.

Budgeting and Cost Management: You will be responsible for creating and managing the farm's budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking costs, and implementing cost-saving measures. You will also be responsible for purchasing and maintaining farm equipment, ensuring that all machinery is in good working condition.

Staff Management: As the Farm Manager, you will oversee a team of farm workers, providing guidance and leadership to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely. This will involve hiring and training new employees, scheduling work shifts, and delegating tasks accordingly.

Record-Keeping and Reporting: You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all farm operations, including crop yields, livestock numbers, expenses, and income. You will also be required to report regularly to upper management, providing updates on the farm's performance and making recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Farm Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm management
• Strong knowledge of crop production, livestock management, and farm equipment
• Excellent leadership and management skills
• Proven ability to develop and implement budget plans and cost-saving measures
• Proficient in record-keeping and reporting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work long hours and weekends when necessary
