Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as an Academic Advisor. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in guiding students towards academic success and achieving their goals. You will be responsible for providing academic guidance, support, and resources to students, while also ensuring that they are meeting their academic requirements. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students thrive, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with students individually to discuss their academic goals, progress, and challenges
• Assist students in developing academic plans that align with their career goals and interests
• Provide guidance on course selection, academic requirements, and registration processes
• Monitor students' academic progress and intervene when necessary to address any issues
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and implement academic support programs
• Assist students with navigating academic policies and procedures
• Refer students to appropriate campus resources for additional support
• Organize and facilitate workshops and information sessions to educate students on academic success strategies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and academic plans
• Participate in departmental and campus-wide initiatives related to student success and retention
• Stay informed about changes in academic policies and requirements and communicate them to students accordingly

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or a related field
• Knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff
• Passion for helping students succeed and the ability to motivate and inspire them
• Familiarity with student information systems and other relevant software
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
