Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maneuver vessels in a safe and efficient manner, following all maritime laws and regulations
Ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members by conducting regular safety checks and providing clear safety instructions
Communicate effectively with crew members, passengers, and port authorities to ensure smooth operations
Monitor weather conditions and make necessary adjustments to routes or schedules to ensure the safety of the vessel and its passengers
Maintain detailed logs of vessel activities, including passenger counts, fuel consumption, and maintenance records
Train and supervise crew members, providing guidance and support as needed
Uphold high levels of customer service by addressing any passenger concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner
Oversee the loading and unloading of cargo and ensure proper weight distribution for safe operation of the vessel
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and environmental regulations
Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance and accounting, to ensure smooth operations and accurate record-keeping

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Captain on a commercial vessel
Valid Captain's license issued by the appropriate regulatory agency
In-depth knowledge of maritime laws, regulations, and procedures
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to make quick and sound decisions in high-pressure situations
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Proficiency in navigation and vessel operation systems
Physically fit and able to perform duties such as lifting and climbing as needed
Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays
Must pass a background check and drug test
