Job Title: Materials Handler

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Materials Handler to join our team. As a Materials Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of materials, ensuring that they are delivered to the appropriate departments or locations within our organization. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth flow of materials throughout our company, from receiving to storage and distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, ensuring that they meet the required specifications and quality standards
• Properly label and store materials in designated areas, taking into consideration their characteristics and storage requirements
• Prepare and package materials for distribution, ensuring they are properly secured and labeled for accurate delivery
• Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies or shortages to the appropriate department
• Maintain accurate records of all materials transactions, including receipts, transfers, and withdrawals
• Collaborate with purchasing and production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials for production processes
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport materials within the facility
• Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and quality standards
• Communicate and work closely with other departments to ensure timely and efficient material flow throughout the organization
• Identify and report any issues or concerns with materials, equipment, or processes to the appropriate personnel
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to material handling and inventory control

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in material handling, inventory control, or a related field
• Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Proficient in using inventory management software and basic computer skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs) and stand for extended periods of time
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
