Job Overview: As an Academic Advisor, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and resources to students to help them achieve their academic goals. You will work closely with students to develop personalized academic plans, monitor their progress, and address any challenges they may face. In addition, you will collaborate with faculty and other departments to provide students with a comprehensive and seamless academic experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising to a diverse group of students, including undergraduate and graduate students, transfer students, and international students.
• Assist students in developing academic plans based on their interests, strengths, and career goals.
• Monitor and track students' academic progress, including course selection, grades, and credit requirements.
• Identify and address any academic or personal challenges that may impede students' academic progress.
• Collaborate with faculty members to ensure students are meeting program requirements and offer support for academic success.
• Serve as a resource for students on academic policies, procedures, and campus resources.
• Promote student engagement and success through outreach programs, workshops, and events.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in academic advising and student success to continuously improve services and support for students.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or counseling in a higher education setting.
• Strong understanding of academic programs and requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a diverse group of students and faculty.
• Demonstrate empathy, patience, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
• Familiarity with academic advising software is a plus.
