Position: Character Animator
About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Character Animator to join our dynamic team. As a Character Animator, you will play a critical role in bringing our characters to life through smooth and realistic movements. You will work closely with our team of artists, designers, and engineers to create compelling and engaging animations for our projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the art and design teams to understand the vision for each character and their role in the overall story
- Create high-quality, realistic character animations using industry-standard software
- Animate a variety of characters including humans, animals, and creatures, while maintaining their unique characteristics and personalities
- Work within technical constraints and meet project deadlines
- Continuously improve and refine animation techniques for more efficient workflow and better quality output
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure consistency and cohesion in the animation style
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and provide regular updates on progress
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to stay ahead of the curve
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in animation, film, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in character animation for film, TV, or video games
- Expertise in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender
- Strong understanding of character movement, weight, and timing
- Excellent knowledge of traditional animation principles
- Creative and artistic with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to take direction and feedback and apply it effectively
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
