Key Responsibilities:

Conduct research and gather information on news stories from various sources such as newspapers, social media, and wire services
Write compelling news scripts that are factually accurate, engaging, and adhere to the station's style and tone
Present news stories in a professional and unbiased manner, while also conveying your unique personality and style
Work closely with the production team to ensure smooth and seamless delivery of news content
Conduct interviews with guests, experts, and sources to gather information and provide insight on current events
Collaborate with the news team to pitch and develop story ideas that will resonate with the audience
Stay up-to-date with current events, trends, and news within the local community and globally
Participate in community events and represent the station as a professional and knowledgeable news anchor
Engage with the audience through various social media platforms and maintain a strong online presence
Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines set by the station and industry regulations
Be available for breaking news coverage and able to deliver live reports from the field when necessary

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a news anchor, preferably in a broadcast setting
Excellent communication and public speaking skills
Strong writing and editing abilities
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Exceptional on-camera presence and charisma
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods
Familiarity with newsroom software and equipment
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
