Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in guiding and supporting students throughout their academic journey. You will be responsible for providing academic guidance, assisting with course selection, and helping students achieve their educational goals. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising to students on a wide range of academic and career-related topics
• Assist students with course selection, scheduling, and registration for each semester
• Monitor student progress and provide support and guidance to ensure academic success
• Help students identify and develop their academic and career goals
• Collaborate with faculty and other departments to provide resources and support for students
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and utilize advising software to track student progress
• Organize and participate in academic workshops and events to educate students on academic planning and resources
• Stay current with university policies, procedures, and academic requirements to effectively advise students
• Assist with recruitment and orientation of new students, providing information on academic programs and resources
• Build relationships with students to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for academic success

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or counseling within a higher education setting
• Strong understanding of academic programs, requirements, and resources
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds
• Proficient in using advising software and student information systems
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
