Job Title: Cashier/Checker

Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Cashier/Checker. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Cashier/Checker, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers by accurately and efficiently processing transactions and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently
• Process all forms of payment, including cash, credit, and debit cards
• Count and reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift
• Assist customers with any inquiries or concerns, and escalate issues to the appropriate supervisor if needed
• Ensure all merchandise is correctly priced and labeled
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including wiping down counters and conveyor belts, and restocking bags and receipt paper
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient checkout process

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in a customer service or cashier position preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle cash accurately and efficiently
• Basic math skills and attention to detail
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
