Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement database security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address any vulnerabilities or risks.
Monitor and analyze database activity, identifying and responding to any suspicious or unauthorized behavior.
Design and implement access controls and authentication mechanisms for database users.
Collaborate with the IT team to install and maintain database security software and tools.
Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies, making recommendations for improvements to our database security posture.
Conduct regular training and awareness programs for employees on database security best practices.
Respond to security incidents and conduct thorough investigations to determine the root cause.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all databases.
Work closely with other departments to ensure database security is integrated into all aspects of our business operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in database security, preferably in a large organization.
Strong knowledge of database management systems, such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.
In-depth understanding of security protocols and authentication methods.
Experience with data encryption and data masking techniques.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards, such as GDPR and HIPAA.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), are a plus.
