Position: Personal Care Assistant
Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Personal Care Assistant. This role involves providing support and assistance to individuals who require help with their daily activities due to illness, injury, or age-related limitations. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to help others, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and toileting
- Help clients with mobility, transferring, and positioning as needed
- Administer medication and assist with medical appointments
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and restrictions
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and dishes
- Accompany clients on outings and provide transportation as needed
- Monitor client's physical and mental well-being and report any changes to supervisor
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients
- Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or similar role preferred
- Knowledge of personal care techniques and safety procedures
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to lift and transfer clients safely
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
