Packaging Specialist

As a Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire packaging process, from concept development to production and delivery. This includes creating and reviewing packaging design concepts, prototypes, and mock-ups, as well as managing relationships with packaging suppliers and negotiating contracts for materials and services. To excel in this role, you must have a strong understanding of packaging materials, processes, and manufacturing techniques. You should also be proficient in design software and have excellent project management skills. Attention to detail and a keen eye for design are essential, as you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with packaging regulations and certifications. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in packaging design, industrial design, engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in packaging design, development, or project management. Knowledge of packaging regulations and certifications, such as FDA and ISO standards, is a plus. This is a full-time position located in our company's packaging department. Occasional travel may be required for supplier visits, trade shows, and industry conferences. The ideal candidate should be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities. Position: Packaging Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement packaging strategies that align with company objectives and target markets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and production, to ensure packaging meets brand and product requirements
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and consumer preferences in packaging
• Create and review packaging design concepts, prototypes, and mock-ups to determine feasibility and effectiveness
• Oversee the production and testing of packaging materials to maintain quality and meet specifications
• Manage packaging projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions
• Develop and maintain relationships with packaging suppliers and negotiate contracts for materials and services
• Monitor and analyze packaging costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and make recommendations for improvements
• Ensure compliance with packaging regulations, standards, and certifications
• Train and mentor team members on packaging design, processes, and best practices
• Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and innovative packaging solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in packaging design, industrial design, engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in packaging design, development, or project management
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and manufacturing techniques
• Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modeling software
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and a keen eye for design
