Position: Senior System Administrator

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $171000 - $208000

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Administrator to join our dynamic and growing team. As a Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and optimization of our company's computer systems. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of system administration, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, and implement system upgrades, migrations, and installations
• Monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and security of our systems
• Proactively identify potential issues and implement solutions to prevent downtime
• Configure and maintain network devices, servers, and virtualization platforms
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network infrastructure
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation and integration of systems
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including configuration, procedures, and policies
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices and make recommendations for improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Familiarity with networking protocols and devices (e.g. TCP/IP, routers, switches)
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Bash)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Relevant certifications (e.g. MCSE, RHCE) are a plus
