Job Title: Sybase Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $92 Per hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Sybase Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Sybase Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Sybase database systems. You will work closely with other members of the IT team to ensure the smooth operation of our database infrastructure and provide technical support to our end-users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Sybase database administration and a passion for problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Sybase database solutions based on business requirements
• Monitor and maintain the performance, security, and integrity of our Sybase databases
• Troubleshoot and resolve any database issues in a timely manner
• Develop and implement data backup and recovery strategies
• Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure database systems are integrated with other systems and applications
• Create and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions
• Conduct regular database maintenance and perform upgrades as needed
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Sybase technologies and recommend innovations to improve database performance and efficiency
• Provide technical support to end-users and assist with any database-related inquiries or issues
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical database systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Sybase database administration
• Strong knowledge of Sybase database architecture and concepts
• Experience with database design, implementation, and maintenance
• Proficiency in SQL and other programming languages
• Familiarity with database security and backup/recovery strategies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to be on-call and work outside of regular business hours when necessary
