Job Title: Principal Data Science Manager

Salary: $320000 - $360000

Position Overview: As a Principal Data Science Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists and overseeing all aspects of the data science projects within the company. Your role will involve developing and implementing data-driven strategies to drive business growth and improve operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and senior management to identify business needs, develop data science solutions, and provide insights to guide decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of data scientists to execute data science projects and deliver actionable insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop data science solutions to address them
• Develop data-driven strategies to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists to enhance their skills and contribute to their professional growth
• Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security
• Stay up-to-date with the latest data science techniques, tools, and technologies and implement them where applicable
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs for the data science team
• Present complex data insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
• Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement data infrastructure and analytical systems to support data science initiatives
• Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to leverage their expertise and resources for data science projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
• Proven track record of leading and delivering data science projects with tangible business impacts
• Strong understanding of data science techniques such as machine learning, predictive modeling, and data mining
• Proficient in programming languages and tools such as Python, R, SQL, and Tableau
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team towards achieving common goals
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Experience in a managerial role within a fast-paced and dynamic environment is a plus.
