Job Overview: As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development, maintenance, and optimization of our cloud-based data infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes in the cloud. Your expertise in data engineering will be essential in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from various sources in the cloud
• Design and implement data models for efficient storage and retrieval of data
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide them with the necessary data sets
• Create and maintain data warehouses and data lakes in the cloud, ensuring data integrity and security
• Monitor and optimize the performance of data systems to ensure efficient and timely data processing
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with data pipelines, data warehouses, or data lakes
• Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and tools, and make recommendations for their implementation in data engineering processes
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve the quality and efficiency of data engineering processes
• Document data engineering processes and procedures for future reference and training purposes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement data governance policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role
• Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and experience working with cloud-based data systems (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
• Proficiency in programming languages used in data engineering, such as SQL, Python, Scala, and Java
• Hands-on experience with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
• Experience with ETL, data integration, and data transformation tools (e.g. Informatica, Talend, Matillion)
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• A passion for learning and staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends
