Position Title: Junior Network Administrator

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Network Administrator to join our team. As a Junior Network Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our organization's network infrastructure. You will work closely with our senior network administrators to provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of our network systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone looking to kickstart their career in the IT industry.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
• Perform routine maintenance and updates on network hardware and software
• Configure and install network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls
• Assist in the design and implementation of network security measures
• Monitor network traffic and identify potential security threats
• Provide technical support to end-users and resolve any network-related issues
• Maintain network documentation and inventory of hardware and software
• Collaborate with senior network administrators to develop and implement network policies and procedures
• Keep up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and trends
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support, as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience in network administration or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
• Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
• Familiarity with network security and monitoring tools (IDS/IPS, Wireshark, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
• Relevant certifications (CCNA, Network+, etc.) are a plus
