Job Title: Principal Systems Administrator

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $138 Per hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. As the Principal Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our company's systems infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our systems to support our organization's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain the company's systems infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization technologies.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise, ensuring maximum uptime and availability for all systems.
• Implement and maintain security protocols to protect our systems from potential threats and vulnerabilities, adhering to industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement disaster recovery plans, ensuring business continuity in the event of a system failure.
• Manage and maintain backups of all critical systems and data, ensuring they are secure and readily available when needed.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for system improvements and enhancements.
• Lead and mentor a team of systems administrators, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
• Work closely with vendors and service providers to evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions that align with the company's objectives.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including configuration, installation, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24/7 support for critical systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior level role.
• Extensive experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
• Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• In-depth understanding of security protocols and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or VCP are highly desirable.
