Title: Junior Database Administrator

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $69 Per hour

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the maintenance and administration of databases within the organization
• Monitor database performance and perform necessary optimizations for efficient functioning
• Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency and accuracy
• Create and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions
• Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as data purging, index rebuilding, and database reorganization
• Assist in the development and implementation of database security measures to protect against unauthorized access
• Stay updated with the latest database technology and trends and make recommendations for improvement
• Work closely with senior database administrators to learn and grow in the field

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience in database administration or a relevant role
• Strong understanding of database management systems (DBMS), SQL, and data manipulation language (DML)
• Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with database security, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
