Job Title: Principal Software Tester

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $270000 - $310000

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Software Tester to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the testing efforts for our software products and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable and user-friendly software solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and project managers to identify and resolve any issues and to ensure that our software meets the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement test plans and strategies for our software products
• Lead and mentor a team of software testers, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and define testing criteria
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve efficiency and accuracy of testing
• Conduct manual testing when necessary and provide detailed bug reports to the development team
• Perform regression testing to ensure that new features and fixes do not impact existing functionality
• Continuously improve and update testing processes and procedures to ensure the highest level of quality
• Identify and report any quality issues or risks to the project team and provide recommendations for resolution
• Participate in product design and code reviews to identify potential quality issues
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and trends in software testing and incorporate them into our testing processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices
• Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, or similar
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a team, as well as work independently
• Certification in software testing (e.g. ISTQB) is a plus
