About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal API Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Principal API Developer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of our company's API infrastructure. Your expertise in API development will play a crucial role in driving the success of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of our company's API infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Develop efficient and scalable APIs that meet industry standards and best practices
• Ensure the security and reliability of our APIs through regular testing and maintenance
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers to improve their skills and knowledge
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in API development and incorporate them into our company's practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or bugs related to the API infrastructure
• Work closely with product managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality APIs
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying areas for optimization and implementing solutions
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and partners to integrate their APIs with our company's systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in API development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby
• In-depth knowledge of API design principles, protocols, and standards (REST, SOAP, GraphQL, etc.)
• Experience with API management tools and platforms (e.g. Apigee, Mulesoft, Kong)
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex API projects
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus
