Salary: $138 Per hour

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Release Manager to join our dynamic team. As the Principal Software Release Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the release process of our software products from development to production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality releases, as well as drive continuous improvement in our release processes and tools. This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end release process, including planning, coordinating, and monitoring all software releases.
• Develop and maintain release schedules, identifying dependencies, risks, and potential roadblocks.
• Collaborate with development, quality assurance, and product teams to define and improve release processes and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Lead release readiness meetings, communicating release progress and any potential issues to stakeholders.
• Implement and maintain release management tools, ensuring efficient and effective use by the team.
• Coordinate and facilitate release retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
• Develop and maintain release documentation, including release notes and standard operating procedures.
• Continuously monitor and report on the health and success of release processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow and excel in their roles.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software release management, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
• Experience with release management tools such as JIRA, Git, or similar.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven experience in implementing and improving release processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with agile development processes is a plus.
• Prior experience in a SaaS or cloud-based environment is an advantage.
