Job Overview: As the Principal Software Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the configuration management process for our software products. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions to our clients. You will collaborate closely with our development, testing, and operations teams to ensure that our software is properly configured, tested, and deployed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the configuration management process for all software products, ensuring that all changes are properly documented, tracked, and implemented.
• Develop and maintain the configuration management plan, policies, and procedures for our software development projects.
• Oversee the configuration management tools and systems used by the development team, ensuring they are properly configured and maintained.
• Collaborate with the development team to identify and implement improvements to the configuration management process, tools, and systems.
• Work closely with the testing team to ensure that all software changes are properly tested and validated before being deployed to production.
• Monitor and report on the status of all software configurations, changes, and releases.
• Provide guidance and support to the development team on best practices for configuration management and version control.
• Lead the release management process, ensuring that all software releases are properly planned, tested, and documented.
• Participate in the evaluation and selection of new tools and technologies to enhance the configuration management process.
• Mentor and train junior members of the configuration management team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software configuration management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
• Extensive experience with configuration management tools such as Git, SVN, and ClearCase.
• Knowledge of software testing and release management processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
