Job Title: Principal Application Security Engineer

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $310000 - $360000

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Application Security Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Application Security Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our application security program. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of our applications and protect our customers' data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application security, excellent technical skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the application security program, including policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities in our applications.
• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate security into the development process.
• Lead the design and implementation of security controls for new and existing applications.
• Develop secure coding standards and provide training to development teams.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and conduct post-incident analysis.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and technologies to continuously improve our security posture.
• Act as a subject matter expert on application security and provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams.
• Mentor and train junior security engineers and developers on best practices for secure coding and application security.
• Work with third-party vendors to ensure the security of any externally developed applications.
• Communicate security risks and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in application security, including experience in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of application security concepts, tools, and techniques.
• Experience with secure coding practices, vulnerability assessment tools, and penetration testing.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as OWASP, PCI DSS, and HIPAA.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team.
• CISSP, CSSLP, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
