Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Migration Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Database Migration Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful migration of database systems for our clients. You will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing existing databases, designing and implementing migration strategies, and overseeing the entire migration process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database management, data migration, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough analysis of existing databases to identify potential issues and determine migration requirements.
• Design and implement effective migration strategies to ensure seamless transfer of data from legacy systems to new databases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate and execute database migration projects within the specified timelines.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for database migration processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Configure and troubleshoot database systems to ensure optimal performance during and after migration.
• Monitor and track the progress of database migration projects, identifying and addressing any issues that may arise.
• Train and mentor junior team members on database migration best practices, tools, and techniques.
• Conduct post-migration testing and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Provide technical support and resolve any database-related issues for clients during and after migration.
• Continuously research and evaluate new database technologies and tools to improve the database migration process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in database management, data migration, and project management.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and executing complex database migration projects.
• In-depth knowledge of database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of data migration principles, methods, and tools.
• Proficient in database query languages such as SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
