Job Title: Junior Systems Operations Engineer
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Salary: $114000 - $144000
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Junior Systems Operations Engineer. As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our company's systems and infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain the health and performance of our systems and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
- Deploy and configure new systems and applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operation of our systems
- Manage and maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans
- Develop and maintain documentation for systems and processes
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance and reliability
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continually improve our systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-tech environment
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
