Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable and efficient data lake solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to industry best practices
Lead a team of data engineers and provide technical guidance and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of data lake projects
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and developers, to understand data requirements and design data lake solutions accordingly
Develop and maintain data lake architecture and standards, ensuring consistency across projects and adherence to data governance policies
Perform data profiling, data quality checks, and data mapping to ensure data integrity and accuracy in the data lake
Identify and address any performance issues in the data lake and make recommendations for optimization
Stay updated with the latest data lake technologies and industry trends and continuously improve data lake processes and procedures
Work closely with the security team to ensure data lake security and compliance with data privacy regulations
Act as a subject matter expert on data lake architecture and provide technical guidance to stakeholders and project teams
Lead the evaluation and selection of new data lake tools and technologies to enhance the data lake infrastructure
Coach and mentor junior data engineers and promote a culture of continuous learning and development within the team

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a related role
Extensive experience designing and implementing data lake solutions using technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and AWS
Proven experience leading a team of data engineers and delivering complex data lake projects
Strong understanding of data lake architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts
Solid understanding of data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality management
Experience with data governance, data security, and data privacy regulations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools
Relevant certifications (e.g., Cloudera Certified Data Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
