Position: Data Compliance Specialist

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $92 Per hour

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a Data Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company is in compliance with all data privacy laws and regulations. You will play a critical role in protecting the sensitive data of our customers and employees and maintaining our company's reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable data privacy laws and regulations, including but not limited to GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to data privacy and compliance
• Conduct regular audits to identify any potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions
• Stay up-to-date on changes in data privacy laws and regulations and communicate any updates to the relevant departments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data privacy and compliance initiatives
• Conduct training sessions for employees to educate them on data privacy policies and procedures
• Assist with the development and maintenance of data privacy impact assessments
• Respond to data privacy inquiries and complaints from customers, employees, and regulatory authorities
• Prepare and submit reports to regulatory authorities as required
• Participate in data breach response efforts and assist with mitigation and notification processes
• Monitor data processing activities and ensure they align with data privacy policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Information Technology, Data Management, or Cybersecurity
• 2+ years of experience in data privacy and compliance, preferably in a regulated industry
• Strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
• Proven track record of successfully implementing data privacy and compliance initiatives
• Experience conducting audits or risk assessments is a plus
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification is a plus
