Position: Big Data Manager
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Salary: $190000 - $240000
Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Big Data Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Big Data Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire lifecycle of our organization's big data infrastructure, from data collection and storage to analysis and visualization. This is a key role in driving the success and growth of our company, making it an exciting and challenging opportunity for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers and analysts to ensure the smooth running of our big data infrastructure
- Establish and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business needs and develop data solutions to meet those needs
- Develop and implement strategies for data collection, storage, and retrieval to support business goals and objectives
- Monitor and optimize data processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data to stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in big data technologies and tools, and make recommendations for their implementation to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments to enhance data quality and performance
- Drive the development of data analytics and reporting capabilities to support business decision-making
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure timely and quality delivery of data-related services
- Train and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge in big data management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in big data management, with at least 2 years in a leadership/management role
- Strong knowledge of big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and NoSQL databases
- Proficient in programming languages, such as SQL, Python, and Java
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proven ability to deliver results and meet tight deadlines
