Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Big Data Database Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Big Data Database Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's Big Data infrastructure. You will work closely with our data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure our database systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database architecture, data modeling, and a deep understanding of Big Data technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable and high-performance Big Data database systems
• Develop data models and schemas to support complex data structures and analytics needs
• Work closely with data scientists and engineers to understand their requirements and translate them into database solutions
• Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security
• Conduct database performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve any issues
• Design and implement data backup and recovery strategies
• Collaborate with other teams to integrate data from different sources into our Big Data infrastructure
• Stay updated with the latest Big Data technologies and tools and evaluate their potential impact on our database architecture
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database engineers
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for database systems and processes
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure the quality and efficiency of our database systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Architect or a similar role
• Strong experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
• Proficient in SQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
• In-depth understanding of database architecture principles and data modeling techniques
• Hands-on experience with database performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala is a plus
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus
