Position: Big Data Storage Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $123 Per hour

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Big Data Storage Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Big Data Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's data storage infrastructure. You will work closely with our data scientists and analysts to ensure efficient and effective storage of vast amounts of data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data storage technologies and a passion for solving complex data challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain our company's data storage infrastructure
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data storage requirements
• Optimize storage solutions for efficient data retrieval and processing
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to data storage
• Monitor storage performance and capacity, and make recommendations for upgrades or improvements
• Ensure data security and compliance with privacy regulations
• Develop and maintain data storage policies and procedures
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data storage technologies
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members and cross-functional teams
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data storage engineering
• In-depth knowledge of data storage technologies, such as Hadoop, NoSQL, and cloud storage solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience with data storage management tools, such as Cloudera, Hortonworks, or MapR
• Strong understanding of data security and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving storage-related issues
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Shell, or Perl, is a plus
