Position: Cost Accountant
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Salary: $133000 - $176000
Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing and tracking the costs associated with producing our products and services. You will play a vital role in helping our company make informed financial decisions by providing accurate and timely cost data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and track the costs of producing our products and services, including direct and indirect costs
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and reconcile any discrepancies
- Prepare cost reports and forecasts for management review
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and analyze the impact of cost drivers on business operations
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide support during internal and external audits
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or related field
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in MS Excel and other accounting software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus
