Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain big data solutions that meet business requirements and align with industry best practices
Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to understand data needs and design data models for effective data analysis
Develop data pipelines to ingest, clean, transform, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources
Implement data governance and security policies to ensure data integrity and confidentiality
Optimize data storage and retrieval for efficient data processing and analysis
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure data quality and system stability
Work with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into existing systems and applications
Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to big data and implement them where applicable
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing big data solutions in a professional setting
Strong experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, and NoSQL databases
Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python
Experience with data warehousing and ETL tools
Knowledge of data governance and security principles
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus
