Job Title: SAS Database Administrator

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $92 Per hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SAS Database Administrator to join our team. As the SAS Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our SAS database environment. You will work closely with our data analysts and developers to ensure the smooth operation of our SAS database and to facilitate efficient data storage and retrieval. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration and a deep understanding of SAS software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data models, tables, and stored procedures in SAS database
• Manage and monitor the performance of the SAS database and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance
• Install, configure, and maintain SAS software and related tools
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner
• Develop and implement data backup and disaster recovery plans
• Collaborate with data analysts and developers to identify and implement data solutions
• Ensure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate access controls and data policies
• Stay updated with the latest SAS software developments and make recommendations for system improvements
• Document database processes, procedures, and configurations
• Train and mentor junior database administrators

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a SAS Database Administrator or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of SAS software, including SAS Base, SAS/ACCESS, SAS/CONNECT, and SAS/GRAPH
• Experience with database administration tools such as SAS Management Console, SAS Enterprise Guide, and SAS Data Integration Studio
• Proficient in SQL and database query optimization
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• SAS Certified Base Programmer or Advanced Programmer certification
• Experience with SAS Grid computing and SAS Viya
• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
