Key Responsibilities:

Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and technical issues related to UNIX systems
Monitor and maintain UNIX systems to ensure optimal performance and availability
Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to hardware, software, and network connectivity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper and timely resolution of issues
Provide timely and accurate updates to customers and internal teams regarding issue status
Perform regular system maintenance and upgrades, as needed
Conduct system audits to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities
Document processes and procedures related to UNIX system support
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in UNIX technology to provide effective support and recommendations to clients
Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support, as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in UNIX system administration and support
Proficient in UNIX operating systems, such as Linux, Solaris, and AIX
Strong knowledge of UNIX networking, file systems, and shell scripting
Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V
Familiarity with server hardware and storage systems
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Relevant certifications (e.g. Linux Professional Institute Certification) are a plus
